Biochemical Studies on the Response of Organo-phosphorus Insecticide and Release of Extra Cellular Products by Cyanobacteria
نویسنده
چکیده
A comparative study on the cyanobacterial isolates, Anabaena ambigua Rao (A100) and Oscillatoria foreaui Fremy (A1340) were carried out to investigate the response of an organophosphorus insecticide Divap 100 at different concentrations of 1, 5 and 10ppm on the growth and release of extracellular products such as protein, nitrogen, ammonia, carbohydrates, amino acids and phenols. The experiment was conducted up to 28 days and observed at intervals of 4 days, which showed to be deleteriously affecting the release of these extracellular products in both the organisms. However, in A. ambigua, the release of extracellular products was affected at higher concentrations of 5 and 10ppm of Divap 100. It also revealed that these products were released in higher amounts only at late exponential phases even in untreated control conditions in both the isolates.

Genetic analysis of polyketide synthase and peptide synthase genes of cyanobacteria as a mining tool for new pharmaceutical compounds
Cyanobacteria are considered a promising source for new pharmaceutical lead compounds and a large number of chemically diverse and bioactive metabolites have been obtained from cyanobacteria. Despite of several worldwide studies on prevalence of NRPSs and PKSs among the cyanobacteria, none of them included Iranian cyanobacteria of Kermanshah province. Therefore, the aim of this study was t...

Propoxure (PPX) is a well-known carbamate insecticide, which has been used for several decades in the world and Iran in agriculture and public health programs. However, there is no clear investigation toward its immunotoxicity as yet. In this study, we examined the effects of subchronic i.p. exposure of PPX on humoral (PFC & HA) and cellular (DTH) responses, and also monitored T-Cell subtypes u...

متن کاملA Report on Finding a New Peptide Aldehyde from Cyanobacterium Nostoc sp. Bahar M by LC-MS and Marfey’s Analysis
Background: Cyanobacteria have a worldwide distribution in the terrestrial habitats, occurring predominantly on the surface of the soils, stones, rocks, and trees, practically in moist, neutral or alkaline aeries. The unique natural and bioactive compounds from cyanobacteria with various biological activities and an extensive range of chemical classes have a significant capabil...
متن کاملMathematical Modeling for Homogeneous Tumor with Delay in Time
Due to the properties of tumor cell, the tumor establishes itself in the organ and grows there, so there is a competition between the tumor cells and host cell (normal cells) for nutrients. Evidences show that high dietary phosphorus increases the rate of protein synthesis and thus the cell number. So, other than oxygen, sulfur, the important element that both tumor cells and normal cells need ...
